plan a visit

Thanks so much for your interest in being our guest at Harvestfield Church! We pray constantly that the Lord would lead people into our midst who share a common passion for reaching the lost with the gospel and growing in Christ. We look forward to meeting you!

what to expect

HFC is a simple church with a simple desire to build authentic relationships and proclaim an authentic gospel. That being said, we are very much a "what you see is what you get" kind of assembly. You won't find a lot of empty entertainment or razzle-dazzle here, and that's on purpose. We simply preach Christ crucified, do life together, and seek opportunities to join God on His mission to reach Rainbow City, Etowah County, and the world with the hope of the gospel.

Your presence here at Harvestfield Church is a big deal to us! We strive to treat every person the Lord leads into our midst as a gift from Him. When you visit HFC, you can expect to be welcomed with a smile and a friendly handshake as you head inside. Our Host Team will be nearby to answer any questions you have and to help you find your way to the HFC Kids check-in area if you have little ones. Your kids will encounter biblical truth taught on their level in safe, secure, age-specific environments. When worship begins, you can expect to hear the gospel proclaimed through song and through passionate, expository preaching, followed by an informal opportunity to chat or pray with one of our ministers.

We expect guests every time we gather, and we are genuinely excited to get to know you and your family!

got questions?

We understand that visiting a church for the first time can be stressful and intimidating, especially for families with young children. So we want to try to answer many of your questions here so that your first experience as our guest will be as enjoyable as possible.

  • where is hfc located?

Harvestfield Church is located at 4533 Rainbow Drive in Rainbow City, Alabama. Whether you're coming from Gadsden, Attalla, Southside, Ashville, Glencoe, or Hokes Bluff, we're only a short drive away!

    DIRECTIONS  >

  • what time does worship start?

Our Sunday morning Large Group worship gathering starts at 10:30am and lasts about 90 minutes. Many people arrive 10-15 minutes early to fellowship in The Blend.

Our Wednesday night Large Group worship gathering starts at 6:00pm and lasts about an hour.

  • where should i park?

You can park anywhere you'd like! Our main entrance is the best place to enter the building on your first visit, so you may find it more convenient to park on that side of the building. If it's raining, feel free to unload your family under the breezeway awning before you park. Someone from our Host Team will gladly meet you at your car with an umbrella to keep you dry on your way inside.

  • what should i wear?

We don't have a dress code here at HFC. In fact, we're about as relaxed and informal as it gets. Pretty much everyone dresses casually and comfortably, and we invite you do the same. Forget the suit and tie, and come as you are!

  • where will my kids go?

On Sunday mornings, babies & preschoolers, K-2nd grades, and 3rd-5th grades meet in their own age-specific environments for a fun, interactive Bible study designed to help kids engage the truths of God's Word on their level.

On Wednesday nights, our K-5th grade children gather together in the HFC Kids area for a time of high-energy worship and Bible teaching. Our Children's Minister and her team of adult volunteers are looking forward to meeting you and your kiddos!

  • will my kids be safe?

The safety and security of your child is of the utmost importance to us! Here are some of the measures we've taken at HFC to ensure the well-being of our kids:

    • When you check in your child, you'll receive a numbered security card which you will be required to present at pick-up in order to retrieve your child.
    • We require our children's ministry staff and volunteers to undergo a thorough criminal background check and training process before being allowed to supervise kids.
    • Our trained Security Team keeps careful watch over the HFC Kids area during all services and special events.
    • The electrical outlets in the nursery and preschool rooms are all positioned out of your child's reach and equipped with plastic outlet covers.
    • You will have an opportunity to communicate your child's allergies, dietary restrictions, special needs, etc. to our children's ministry staff and volunteers at check-in.
  • where will my teens go?

On Sunday mornings, 6th-12th grade students gather in the worship center with the rest of the church and typically sit together at the front of the right center section. Your teenager is welcome to join the other students or to sit with you.

On Wednesday nights, teenagers in grades 6-12 meet in the HFC Student Building at 6:00pm for a worship gathering designed just for them. Our Student Pastor and Circle Leaders are excited to meet you and your student!

  • WILL I BE PUT ON THE SPOT IN ANY WAY?

Not at all! We will not put you on the spot or call you out in any way whatsoever. You won't be asked to stand up and introduce yourself or be forced into an awkward meet-and-greet. If you'd like to connect with us on a deeper level, you'll have an opportunity to turn in a Connection Card during or after worship.

  • WHAT IS HFC'S MUSIC & pREACHING STYLE?

Our worship band uses a style of music that emphasizes sound doctrine and adoration of Christ Jesus. They aim to play skillfully without turning worship into a performance that takes the spotlight off of Christ to place it upon man. We utilize a variety of instruments to proclaim the gospel through song, including drums, electric guitar, bass guitar, violin, saxophone, etc.

In our preaching, we hold a high view of the Scriptures and of God's ability to work through His Word to cut faith and repentance upon a person's heart. We place great emphasis upon carefully drawing out the original, contextual meaning of a biblical passage and exposing any gospel-centered implications relevant to life today. You will not hear a "gospel" of self-improvement or of health, wealth, and prosperity preached at HFC.

In short, we constantly strive to sing the authentic gospel and to preach the authentic gospel.
